The 1920 FLYER CO/LI TWILL is a special edition inspired by BIG YANK’s 1935 shirt, incorporating design elements from an earlier era of the 1920s. This shirt blends historical authenticity with functional construction, embodying the roots of classic American workwear.
Its standout feature is the asymmetrical chest pocket layout. The left side includes a bag-style convenient pocket, while the right features a vertical pocket with a pen holder. This "gacha-poke" design, rooted in practical utility, reflects the needs of early industrial laborers.
A chin strap at the collar allows for an adjustable fit, referencing vintage styling. The back features the signature strain-proof yoke that relieves tension when reaching forward, improving comfort and mobility. The cuffs are designed without traditional plackets, using a streamlined storm cuff that prevents snags and supports smooth movement.
The fabric is a cotton-linen blend twill that combines a dry, crisp texture with a natural sheen. Over time, the fabric softens and gains character with wear. Additional vintage-inspired details include lightweight aluminum buttons and green bar-tack stitching at the keyhole buttonholes, offering subtle yet distinct visual contrast.
