This 1940s model features BIG YANK’s iconic left chest pocket, commonly known as the “mountain pocket.”
Its distinctive pentagon shape combines striking visual appeal with functionality, perfectly representing the beauty of utility.
The asymmetric pocket layout, known as “gacha pockets,” is unique to BIG YANK. The right side features a cigarette pocket, trademarked in 1942, while the left chest has the signature mountain-shaped pocket. This design reflects both practical workwear needs and visual balance.
A small metal button at the top adds durability while acting as a subtle accent that sharpens the overall look of the shirt.
The cuffs are designed with storm cuffs, eliminating the traditional placket to prevent snagging during work. On the back, the strain proof yoke helps reduce tension when leaning forward, ensuring comfort and freedom of movement. Every detail is rooted in functionality for the workplace.
The shirt is made from Japanese 20×30 selvedge chambray, sulphur-dyed for a vintage look. The fabric has a soft, natural texture that develops unique character over time, making each shirt truly personal.
