The 1942 ORIGINAL CHAMBRAY faithfully recreates one of BIG YANK's signature work shirts from the 1940s. Featuring the iconic Mountain Pocket and authentic patented details throughout, it embodies the functional beauty and craftsmanship that defined BIG YANK workwear.
The chest features BIG YANK's signature asymmetrical "Gacha Pocket" layout, combining a pentagon-shaped Mountain Pocket on the left chest with a cigarette pocket on the right. Originally designed for practical use, this distinctive arrangement remains one of the brand's most recognizable design elements.
Authentic workwear details include Storm Cuffs, designed to prevent snagging during work, and the Strain-Proof Yoke, which reduces stress across the shoulders and back for greater freedom of movement. Small metal buttons complete the shirt with the rugged character of classic vintage workwear.
Crafted from Japanese-made 20 × 30 selvedge chambray dyed with sulfur dye, the fabric gradually softens with wear and develops beautiful fading and rich character over time.
