The 1942 SHIRT by BIG YANK is a faithful revival of a 1940s model, instantly recognizable by its signature "mountain pocket" on the left chest. This unique five-sided flap pocket, accented with a small metal button, has long stood as a symbol of the BIG YANK identity, blending visual impact with functionality.
On the right chest, the shirt features the original “cigarette pocket” design, trademarked in 1942. The asymmetrical pocket layout, known as “gacha-poke,” reflects the brand’s commitment to practical design rooted in real workwear utility. Additional functional elements include storm cuffs at the wrists and a strain-proof yoke across the back to ease movement and reduce tension during physical activity.
The fabric is a brushed cotton flannel, soft to the touch with just the right weight for layering through the cooler seasons. While the shirt retains its rugged workwear roots, the refined texture and balanced silhouette make it a versatile choice that transitions easily into everyday styling.

This product may shrink slightly after washing. Please note that sun drying may cause approximately 1.0–1.5cm shrinkage in the body length and 0.5–1.0cm in the sleeve length.
