BIG YANK 1952 CHAMBRAY

In the early 1950s, mass production and functionality began to reshape the design of workwear.
The 1952 CHAMBRAY SHIRT captures this transitional period, blending the atmosphere of the time with practical evolution.

In 1952, the first filter-tipped cigarettes appeared in the U.S., leading to larger chest pockets designed to accommodate the new packaging. This change reflects a key shift in functionality, focusing on easier storage and improved usability.

The cuffs feature a simplified construction known as “Ittekoi,” replacing the traditional placket with a continuous sleeve design. This adjustment suited the needs of mass production while maintaining flexibility and utility for everyday workwear.

The buttons were also updated in the 1950s, shifting to a more practical and minimalist design. Every detail in this shirt reflects BIG YANK’s ability to evolve with the times while staying true to its core identity.

A shirt that encapsulates the spirit of a transitional era, where design met industrial progress without sacrificing purpose.
