SHIRT C1933 WORLDS FAIR
This special shirt is based on a piece distributed by BIG YANK at the 1933 World’s Fair in Chicago.
Even the neck label has been faithfully reproduced, making it a garment rich in both historical value and storytelling.
Crafted from a unique chambray fabric made of 100% cotton with a crisp, dry touch similar to a cotton-linen blend.
It has a firm hand at first but softens with each wash, developing character over time. Lightweight and breathable, it is suitable for year-round wear.
The left chest features a signature “cigarette pocket” with a gap between the fabric and body to protect paper-wrapped tobacco from moisture, a patented detail from the era.
The right chest includes a long vertical pocket with a pen slot. Light green bartacks provide discreet yet distinctive reinforcement.
Construction includes a mix of double-needle and triple-needle chain stitching, executed with traditional flat-felled seams.
This method requires skilled machine adjustment and cannot be replicated through mass production, ensuring durability and authenticity.
With its curved collar, engraved aluminum buttons, and patented “Strainproof Yoke,” this shirt conveys the spirit of 1930s BIG YANK craftsmanship in every detail.
